FROM WHERE I MAKE
From Where I Make is a fine arts catalogue designed to reflect on the artist's perspectives and lived experiences as they created art in disparate places, tackling themes of resilience, empowerment, identity, memory, and self-determination.
Tasked with designing the University of The Fraser Valley's 2021 Grad Show Catalogue, the cover design needed to represent and communicate how the grad's persevered studying and working on their senior projects from their homes that are located in the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland, as well as have bold typography, and a colourful theme/ palette.
I had communicated with the faculty member representing and organizing the grad show virtually throughout this project, where we both bounced ideas with regards to the cover design, and also communicated the contents (images, copy, etc.) that were needed for the contents within the catalogue as well.
The abstract, and colourful topographic cover design for UFV's 2021 BFA Grad Show catalogue, From Where I Make, reflects the message of the meaning behind the titled theme-- showcasing the grad's work in an organized and consistent format that acknowledges existing and new audiences at different levels of artistic understanding.
